Washington D.C. – Following the Supreme Court's announcement that it has dismissed the case of Moyle v United States, People For the American Way President Svante Myrick released the following statement:
“We can breathe a temporary sigh of relief that access to abortion care in life-threatening cases has been preserved for now. But as in the mifepristone case, the Supreme Court has not rejected efforts by the Far Right to further restrict abortion. Instead, it’s only kicked the can down the road. The danger for reproductive freedom is still severe, until we are able to codify reproductive rights at the federal level. This makes it even more important that we reelect President Biden this fall and reject Donald Trump and the MAGA movement that is dead set on banning abortion nationwide.”
