Young Elected Officials Network

Bringing together passionate progressive leaders

The nonpartisan YEO Network is unique. It’s the first and only national network built to train, support, and empower the next generation of progressive leaders.

Trailblazers and change makers learn and grow together.

Lots of programs help young candidates get elected. YEO takes over where they leave off – creating a special space for young elected officials 18-40. YEOs are leaders on the front lines of change and progress. They are public servants who help their communities thrive. Many are shattering glass ceilings as the first in their communities to achieve elected office.

Building community and providing support

YEO has grown from a handful of members in 2005 to more than 1,200 today. Our intensive skills training and support have helped thousands of young officials excel in offices from school board, to state leadership, the U.S. Congress, and roles in the President’s Cabinet. Three YEOs have run for U.S. President.

Meet the 2023 Jordan-Huerta Fellows

Our 2023 Cohort of Jordan-Huerta Fellows was a diverse and powerful group of elected women fighting for truth, justice, and The American Way in communities across the country.

Over half of our fellows are glass ceiling- breakers: they're either the first woman, first person of color, or youngest person to serve in their roles.
