WASHINGTON, DC – People For the American Way launched digital ads in Michigan, today, focusing on the importance of voting against Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans who want to take away our freedoms, including reproductive choice, restrict voting rights, and further the Big Lie to justify Project 2025.
"Donald Trump Has No Plan” is a 60-second video running on social platforms beginning this week through November 5, specifically encouraging voters to defeat Trump at the ballot box, in one of the most consequential elections in American history, by voting early or on Election Day.
“Every voter in Michigan has an opportunity to help protect the promise of a better America for the next generation,” said President of People For the American Way Svante Myrick. “If Donald Trump wins, he will take away your family’s ability to get ahead, he will push the Project 2025 agenda, and he will nominate more MAGA Supreme Court justices who will bend the law to give him overreaching power to control our everyday lives.”
“The stakes are high in Michigan because there’s been a resurgence of misinformation campaigns to deter and discourage Black voters from showing up at the polls,” said National Political Director Markus Batchelor. “What happens in Michigan will have a significant impact on who becomes our next president, who has the freedom to access life-saving reproductive care, and who controls the U.S. Senate that confirms Supreme Court justices and federal court nominees tasked with enforcing justice and equality for everyone.”
In Michigan, elections will be held for various local offices and all 13 seats in the Michigan House of Representatives. There is also a hotly contested race for U.S. Senate between People For-endorsed Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin and former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers.
Black eligible voters in Michigan make up about 13 percent of the state’s electorate. Since 2020, the total count of registered voters has grown by more than 350,000.
