American Family Association governmental affairs director Sandy Rios said that she no longer trusted the Federal Bureau of Investigation because she believes it has been subverted and “neutralized” by the political left.
On this morning’s episode of her American Family Radio show, Rios was discussing last week’s shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola, which is being investigated by the FBI as an act of terrorism. During her analysis of the shooting, she diverted on a tangent to claim that the left had targeted the FBI for infiltration.
“I just don’t have trust in the FBI,” Rios said. “Maybe the Michael Horowitz report that’s coming out today that will expose some of what happened with the FBI, at least in regard to the FISA abuse on the alleged Russian collusion, will cement why many of us have lost our faith in that institution and how sad, how very sad—and how typical of the left to target, as they always do, the institutions that are most trusted, and to infiltrate and to make them an entity, to render them really helpless and neutralized. Because they have great plans for this country, you see, and it’ll be very handy if the FBI is inept.”
Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report about the investigation into whether Justice Department officials were politically biased against Trump’s campaign when they examined its possible coordination with Russia is anticipated to be released today. The report is not expected to show that political bias played a role in the investigation, but is said to accuse a lawyer at the FBI of altering a document related to the renewal of a warrant to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
