Religious Right radio host Sandy Rios said that Califorina, a state she remembered as being beautiful “beyond description” during her childhood, has become “shabby” and “run down” because it has been “overrun” by undocumented immigrants.
On her daily radio program this morning, Rios lambasted the judges in California who had blocked Trump’s “Muslim ban” travel restrictions and his efforts to roll back DACA protections for undocumented immigrants. Because of this, Rios declared that California “has lost its mind.”
“Lawlessness prevails in California,” she said.
She went on to recount visiting California as a child.
“California was the most beautiful state. You can’t even comprehend. I would say even the grass felt like carpeting on your feet. It was beautiful. It was clean,” Rios said. “From the mountains, to the ocean, to green, to desert, it had everything and that’s why, of course, the movie industry ended up in California. It was just honestly almost beyond description.”
Rios then began to blame immigrants for soiling the California she experienced as a girl, and to fault liberal politicians who have advocated for legal protections for undocumented immigrants.
“And now when you go out to California, I don’t recognize it. Well, first of all, you can’t see the beauty because of all the people. It’s overrun. And they have been overrun by—it’s, I think, the illegal immigrant population was a huge part of this,” Rios said. “Of course, leftist policies implemented by crazy people—honestly, I don’t know what else to call it—have, with a combination of wanting to get voters from people who’ve immigrated who don’t share America’s traditional views on things, to getting them as voters so they move their policies further and further to the left. California is in big trouble in every way.”
Between environmental activists who she claimed are causing wildfires and the “out-of-control” economy, Rios blamed the left for the destruction of the state.
“Even some of the most beautiful areas like Santa Barbara, to me, to my eye, are not beautiful anymore. They’re shabby. They’re run down. It’s just amazing,” Rios said.
Rios warned listeners to pay attention to local and state politics, otherwise their states may be taken over by politicians who want to “enrich themselves,” and that their state may “go to hell in a handbasket” like California.
