Fischer: 'If You Legalize Drugs, We're Going To See More Cops Getting Shot In Connection With Routine Traffic Stops'

On his radio program yesterday, Bryan Fischer put forth a rather novel anti-marijuana legalization argument when he claimed that legalizing pot would lead to more police officers being killed.

Citing the recent killing of two police officers in Mississippi, Fischer seized upon the fact that one of the suspects was a regular user of "spice," a synthetic form of marijuana, while ignoring the fact that the suspect also reportedly had a history of mental health problems, to declare that drug legalization will result in more cops being killed.

"You see something like this, where he is high, smoking spice every day," Fischer said, "and you have people out there saying, 'Look, we just need to legalize drugs, the problem is we have too many drug laws, we have too many people incarcerated for drugs, let's just legalize drugs.' Well, here's one of the things you're going to see more of, if you legalize drugs, we're going to see more cops getting shot in connection with routine traffic stops":
