Religious Right talk show host Kevin Swanson is joining other conservative pundits in trashing the Grammy Awards for becoming, in his words, a “satanic pagan orgy.”
Swanson said that the award show “was a celebration of fornication, twerking, stripping and satanic rituals,” and claimed the mass wedding that included same-sex couples was inspired by Roman Emperor Nero.
Swanson has an explanation for all of this: The Beatles are to blame.
According to Swanson, The Beatles encouraged a “secular, demonic approach to things” in pop culture, and lashed out at the band members as apostates: “It takes apostates to destroy a culture and to undermine a civilization, that’s how you get from ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’ to ‘Let’s Do It In The Road.’”
“And by the way, the 2014 Grammys celebrated The Beatles, yet again, and I think that’s important because The Beatles opened things up for us, that’s how we got to the drug culture of 1969 and 1970,” he added.
