Religious Right radio host Sandy Rios claimed that New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio’s decision not to cancel the city’s Halloween parade and calls to move “forward together” after yesterday’s terror attack were straight out of the “communist playbook.”
On her show this morning, Rios expressed shock that DeBlasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York had encouraged New York City residents to continue with plans for the city’s annual Halloween parade in wake of a terror attack that killed eight people earlier that day.
“I saw men, people, marching in the parade with horror masks and blood dripping down and I thought, ‘You know, something is not quite right here,’” Rios said. “This is all just wicked. It’s just wicked. Now we’re free to march in the streets with blood-dripping masks and carrying skulls, so that’s what the mayor and the governor encouraged people to continue to do. I just think they’re missing the point.”
“As I heard the governor speak yesterday, Cuomo, he kept saying ‘forward together, forward together,’” Rios said. “Well that was, I believe, an Obama phrase and I think it’s a phrase that comes out of—again—the old communist playbook.”
“It’s really kind of bizarre,” Rios said.
