Ohio televangelist and “Patriot Pastor” leader Rod Parsley is lending his weight to a Right Wing effort to inject sectarian, Sunday School-style Bible education into public schools. Last week, Parsley urged his congregation and viewers of his “Breakthrough” television show to withdraw their children from “the halls of secular humanistic philosophy.” Today, Parsley’s show ran an advertisement from his political arm, the Center for Moral Clarity, offering that the preacher “heartily endorses” the National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools (NCBCPS) class. Watch the video.
As a past PFAW Foundation report showed, NCBCPS designed its course to promote Protestant Christian doctrine and the course is used for faith formation and Sunday School-like training.
