Today on “The 700 Club,” Pat Robertson lashed out at the mayors who have announced that they will not comply with President-elect Trump’s policies calling for mass deportation of undocumented immigrants and an end to “sanctuary cities,” comparing these officials to Jim Crow proponents who resisted desegregation.
Robertson, a vocal Trump supporter, criticized the “idea of sanctuary” for undocumented immigrants:
Can you imagine how it was in the Civil Rights era when certain governors stood up against the government and said, ‘We’re going to maintain our Jim Crow laws and we’re going to maintain racial disparity’? And the federal government went in and moved against them to stop that, and I think, sooner or later, there’s got to be a coming to reckoning with these guys who act like they’re such big heroes.
