Today at the Heritage Foundation, Newt Gingrich delivered a speech on “Trumpism” in which he lavished praise on President-elect Donald Trump and promoted his new ebook on Trump’s campaign while skewering the pontificating elites of the establishment, of which the former speaker of the House is certainly not a member.
“Donald Trump is the grizzly bear in ‘The Revenant,’” Gingrich said. “If you get his attention, he will get awake. When he gets awake, he will walk over, bite your face off and sit on you.”
He said that while Trump’s “low energy” hit on his former GOP rival Jeb Bush was “totally untrue,” it was so effective that it proved Trump’s ability to read an audience and connect with voters.
However, “all these people in the news media” don’t understand Trump, Gingrich said, and “cannot come to grips” with why he is so successful.
“One of the great disgraces of the propaganda media we have, all of us on the right should describe it the propaganda media, drop the term ‘news media’ until they earn it, and begin to realize that the propaganda media cannot come to grips with the level of talent that they’re dealing with,” he said.
