In an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones last week, conservative radio host Michael Savage said President Obama plans to “use Ebola as a pretext” to exercise authoritarian control over the United States.
“He wants an insurrection,” Savage said of Obama. “He wants his Kristallnacht. He wants to take the guns, he wants to arrest people, he wants to detain people for their own safety.” Rather than getting impeached, Savage continued, Obama “is liable to use [Ebola] to gain even more power.”
Fortunately, Savage sees the bright side of an Ebola outbreak, hoping the virus might be a blessing in disguise if it “saves us from this psychotic in the White House.”
“You’re gonna think I’m a little weird here when I say that Ebola may be the silver lining,” he said. “Maybe that’s gonna awaken people to the fact that this man is not only incompetent, but that his radical open-borders agenda is gonna kill all of us. Just maybe, this could be a blessing.”
Jones warned that Obama may use Ebola as a “false flag and try to blame it on the liberty movement,” while Savage said Obama may remain as president even after his second term expires.
Complaining that the United States has not enacted a travel ban on people from regions where the disease is found, Savage argued that the president has less common sense than “third-world African dictators.”
Savage then attacked the “mentally ill” Democratic lawmakers in Congress who he said enable the president. “I think they’re crazy, they’re drugged, they’re on medication, antidepressants, they don’t know what the hell they’re talking about,” Savage offered as a diagnosis.
