Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality appeared on Crosstalk yesterday for a show on the “Same Sex Marriage Tsunami,” where he told host Vic Eliason that Christians who affirm gay people are pushing an “insidious lie” that is “straight from Satan’s talking points.”
“It is Isaiah 5:20 in action, ‘Evil is called good and good evil,’” LaBarbera said. “Homosexuality, rather than being the sinful thing it is, is now parlayed that opposition to homosexuality is the sin and people are made gay by God.”
Meanwhile, Eliason, the head of Voice of Christian Youth America, said he is deeply concerned that the phrase “OMG” is “said as a curse” to God and corrupting young people.
LaBarbera agreed with Eliason’s claim that homosexuality a “vulgar, terrible sin that by its very behavior marks it as among the worst,” and added that pastors who affirm gay people will be “judged more severely than others because they are in positions of spiritual authority, supposedly.”
He said that the National Cathedral, an Episcopal church which supports gay rights, has now become a symbol of “the downfall of American society and American civilization.”
“We have become a morally corrupt nation,” he lamented. “Until we get right with God we will continue to go downhill.”
Eliason went on to lambast public schools for “promoting diversity” and to attack us here at Right Wing Watch for trying to “intimidate” them by quoting them verbatim.
