Upset by the news that a Christian bakery in Colorado has decided to stop offering wedding cakes rather than provide cakes to gay couples in compliance with the state's anti-discrimination law, Glenn Beck wondered why we all can't just get along and learn to live together.
"We must, in the end, be able to live side by side," Beck said in defending the baker's right to refuse to serve gay customers. "We are dividing ourselves in every possible way and it's being done intentionally. Nope, the Republicans have to live over here, the conservatives over here and the liberals and then the progressives, and then we have the gay people who live over here and the straight people who live over here and these people can run businesses and these people can't."
"We need to live side by side," Beck preached. "Diversity is actually a good thing."
Allow us to remind everyone that this is the same Glenn Beck who, just last year, laid out his grandiose vision for a massive $2 billion libertarian compound called Independence Park in which only like-minded people would be allowed to live and only like-minded businesses could operate.
This is also the same Glenn Beck who, the day after President Obama was re-elected, openly encouraged his listeners to buy farmland and to literally move away from their neighbors if they did not share their values and "find a place where you are surrounded by like-minded people" by looking "at the maps on how counties voted":
