Unsurprisingly, Frank Gaffney is joining the right-wing smear campaign against Khizr Khan, alleging in an interview today with Breitbart News that Khan is “lying for the faith” and “absolutely” wants to install Sharia law in the U.S. Of course, there is no evidence of this other than a bogus blog post by a pair of extremist activists and a Breitbart article linking Khan to a law firm that has ties to Saudi Arabia … and also to Donald Trump.
Gaffney also played defense for Trump by claiming that the GOP presidential candidate is merely trying to prevent “jihadists” from entering the country.
However, Trump has advocated for a sweeping ban on all Muslims from entering the U.S., and even cited a discredited poll conducted by Gaffney’s Center for Security Policy to justify his blanket ban.
