Bryan Fischer began yesterday's radio program, as he customarily does, with a reading from the Bible and a discussion about what it means for today. In yesterday's reading, Fischer was working from the Book of Haggai as he explained that our economy is suffering because the nation has turned away from God, just as happened to ancient Israel.
And if we want the economy to turn around, it requires the leaders of this nation to call us to focus our attention back on God because" if you want a prosperous economy, you've got to have a vibrant spirituality."
"When you worship God," Fischer explained, "you are not just doing the right thing in terms of your relationship with God, you are doing your patriotic duty. It is your patriotic duty to worship God in order that we may have a prosperous and flourishing economy":
