Right-wing pastor E.W. Jackson complained on his "The Awakening" radio program yesterday that a Muslim imam was allowed to deliver the opening prayer in the House of Representatives last week, declaring that "all he did was pronounce curses" on this nation because he worships a false god.
Jackson, who was the Republican Party nominee for lieutenant governor of Virginia in 2013 and unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the U.S. Senate in 2018, fumed that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi allowed a "whacked out" Muslim to deliver a prayer but would never allow a Christian like Franklin Graham to do so because Graham "would pray in the name of Jesus."
"If you don't have Jesus, you're not getting to God," Jackson said. "Without him, you are going to die in your sins. Muhammad can't cleanse you from sin. Buddha can't cleanse you from sin. Hare Krishna can't cleanse you from sin. No prophet can cleanse you from sin. Moses can't cleanse you from sin. David can't cleanse you from sin. Elijah can't. There is only one person who can cleanse you from sin."
"And yet we've got this love affair with Islam that is going on within the elite circles in our country," he added. "They put this imam up to pray over the country and you know what he did? We can mark this down. You know what he did? All he did was pronounce curses on the whole Congress. That's all he did because that's all he's capable of doing. He can't bring any blessings because he's not connected to the one who is in the blessing business, so all he can do is stand up there and pronounce curses."
"I'd have walked out," Jackson said. "I'm serious."
