Donald Trump Won't Raise The Minimum Wage Because He Will Get Everyone A High-Paying Job

Donald Trump, who once complained that wages are “too high,” told conservative radio host Joe Pags this weekend that he opposes a minimum wage increase because, under his tax plan, everyone will get job offers and America will no longer be “a Third World country.”

Trump, seeming to misspeak, said his tax proposal is “the biggest tax increase by far of anybody” and that “the middle class is so well taken care of.” (In reality, Trump’s $12 trillion tax plan will mostly benefit the top 0.1 percent.) Thanks to massive tax cuts and additional taxes on importers, Trump explained, the economy will boom and the minimum wage will be obsolete.

“We’re going to bring so many jobs back that the minimum wage, even at the higher number, will be not such a good number, people are going to make more than that,” he said.

“That’s not a lot either, in all fairness,” he added. “But we’re going to bring jobs back so much and so many that the minimum wage will hopefully be a figure that people won’t want to think about.”

Trump also boasted that Apple products will be made in America when he’s president.

“Somebody will say, ‘Oh they’re going to cost more.’ That’s right, but we’re going to have a lot more jobs and that’s going to offset it,” he said.
