Bryan Fischer: If You Oppose Public Posting Of The Ten Commandments, You’re An 'American Traitor'

On his program yesterday, American Family Radio's Bryan Fischer declared that any American who is “working to oppose Christianity and oppose the public acknowledgement of the Ten Commandments” is a "traitor."

Fischer framed his assertion by citing this quote from George Washington's Farewell Address:

Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labour to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness.

Washington's point, Fischer insisted, was that only "sincerely devoted followers of Jesus Christ" can be considered to be patriots, while those who criticize or oppose Christianity or seek to curtail its influence upon society are nothing but "traitors."

"I have no hesitation in saying that today," Fischer said. "You want to find a traitor to your country, find somebody who is actively working to oppose Christianity and oppose the public acknowledgement of the Ten Commandments; you are looking, my friend, right there at an American traitor."
