American Family Radio's Bryan Fischer seems to be having a bit of trouble telling the truth about our coverage of him and his employer, the American Family Association, lately.
On his radio program on Tuesday, Fischer interviewed Todd Starnes of Fox News about Meryl Streep's speech at the Golden Globes criticizing Donald Trump and kicked off the discussion by giving Starnes an opportunity to plug his forthcoming book, "The Deplorables' Guide to Making America Great Again."
The title of the book prompted Fischer to assert that if conservatives were to use "offensive terms against liberals," they would be sued and fired from their jobs and maybe even wind up in jail, whereas "if liberals say grossly offensive things about us, they get lionized and celebrated and nothing bad happens."
Fischer said that Right Wing Watch is a prime example of this hypocrisy, falsely claiming that we had called hosts of another AFR program "hotheads that were representing this hate group called the American Family Association."
Fischer was referencing a post we wrote last week highlight the hypocrisy of the hosts of the "Today's Issues" radio program for decrying the "thought police" who were criticizing gospel singer Kim Burrell for an anti-LGBTQ sermon she delivered before turning right around and saying that organizers of a Christian conference should never have allowed Carrie Underwood to perform because she supports marriage equality.
We never called the AFA a hate group or hosts of that program "hotheads" in the post he was referencing; those were terms used by a different publication in reporting on this segment but which Fischer falsely attributed to us.
