Ann Coulter, author of “Adios, America!,” appeared on the “Joyce Kaufman Show” on Monday to offer her advice to the current Republican presidential candidates to “drive up the white vote” rather than trying to expand their base.
Kaufman, a fellow far-right, anti-immigrant pundit, voiced her fear that Texas is “holding on by a thread.”
“I wrote about that in the book,” Coulter responded. The reason “why Texas is different than California,” she said, is that white voters in Texas “voted 80 percent for Mitt Romney,” while whites in California “split their vote.”
Because Latino voters in Texas and California compromise the “exact same percentage” of the population and both “block vote for the Democrats,” it is the unity of white Texans that makes the difference, Coulter said.
“That’s what Republicans gotta learn. Drive up the white vote; that’s your base,” she concluded.
