A week after the completion of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Glenn Beck is now bravely declaring that the United States ought to have boycotted the games.
These games had been in the works for seven years and were the focus of national coverage for several weeks leading up to and during the actual games, and never once did Beck, as far as we can recall, ever call for a US boycott of the Winter Olympics.
But today, while discussing the crisis in Ukraine on his radio program, Beck blasted media coverage of the games for not adequately reporting on Russian President Vladimir Putin's totalitarianism and proclaimed that the United States should not have even agreed to participate in the games in order to give hope to oppressed peoples all over the world.
Responding to a point by co-host Pat Gray that boycotting the Olympics would mostly just hurt American Olympic athletes, Beck was utterly unmoved.
"Yes, it would hurt our Olympics. Boo hoo," he stated. "Cry me a river":
