WASHINGTON, D.C.— In response to reports that the Senate Judiciary Committee plans to take up the nomination of Justin Walker to the D.C. Circuit Court as early as May 6, PFAW Executive Vice President for Policy and Program Marge Baker released the following statement:
"Justin Walker is in every way the wrong nominee at the wrong time for the D.C. Circuit. In the middle of a pandemic, the idea that Mitch McConnell would prioritize the advancement of a demonstrably anti-health care judicial nominee is outrageous. The fact that the nominee is a 38-year-old who was rated Not Qualified for the bench by the ABA, and that the court is the second most influential in the country, just adds insult to injury. This nomination should absolutely not move ahead in the Senate."
