WASHINGTON, D.C.— On this year's holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., PFAW President Michael Keegan released the following statement:

"As we honor Dr. King's lifetime of service, his historic civil rights achievements and his legacy this year, we recognize how far we still need to go to fulfill his visions of social and economic justice. The civil rights he fought to secure for all communities are under threat today, but we remain committed to protecting, defending and advancing those rights until we achieve our vision of justice for all.

We are deeply grateful for the enduring guidance provided by Dr. King's work and life and for the emerging leaders of today who are inspired by it, who will ultimately bring us to a better place as people and as a nation. We won’t give up; in his memory, and with dedication to keeping the dream alive, we will never be silent about the things that matter."
