WASHINGTON, D.C.— This morning, progressive and grassroots organizations joined together as the Nobody Is Above the Law Coalition announced plans to mobilize hundreds of thousands of people to protest in all congressional district in the country on the eve of the House's upcoming impeachment vote. On that evening, people will demand that their elected representatives vote to impeach and remove President Trump, who has betrayed his oath of office by inviting a foreign power to interfere in our elections in a way that would benefit his reelection campaign.
This mass mobilization is being planned as part of the ongoing nationwide work to build and demonstrate support for the impeachment inquiry. People For the American Way Executive Vice President for Policy and Program Marge Baker released the following statement:
"People For the American Way is proud to be part of the Nobody Is Above the Law Coalition. The name of this effort says it all: nobody, including and especially the President of the United States, can be allowed to flout our laws and endanger our democracy with impunity. This will be a massive grassroots mobilization that will make it absolutely clear that the American people expect their elected representatives to hold this president accountable for betraying his oath of office and endangering our national security to advance his own political ambitions."
