WAshington, D.C. In response to the Senate Judiciary Committee's advancement today of the judicial nominations of Lee Rudofksy for the Eastern District of Arkansas and Justin Walker for the Western District of Kentucky, PFAW Executive Vice President for Policy and Program Marge Baker released the following statement:

"By advancing the nominations of these two individuals, the GOP-led Senate Judiciary Committee is once again rewarding far-right political partisanship as the leading qualification for a federal judgeship. Justin Walker was a vocal cheerleader for the nomination of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, but has almost no trial experience and has been rated not qualified for a judgeship by the American Bar Association. Lee Rudofsky has been a reliable voice for far-right positions; so concerned was he that he might be mistaken for a moderate, that he flip-flopped on his prior support for the constitutional requirement of marriage equality when put on the spot during his confirmation hearing. These nominees are unfit for federal judgeships and it is regrettable that their nominations are being rammed through like so many others."
