WASHINGTON—People For the American Way today announced the launch of a new podcast, The Progressive Happy Hour, hosted by Christin “Cici” Battle, director of PFAW’s Young People For Action, and Drew Courtney, PFAW’s vice president for communications and research. The show aims to be a mix of “politics with pop culture, organizing with attitude, and the Constitution with a couple of cocktails.”

“We’re always looking for new ways to connect with members and progressive activists all across the country, and we knew that a podcast was a powerful tool to help make that happen,” said People For the American Way President Michael Keegan. “Cici and Drew are great spokespeople not just for our organization, but for the progressive movement. They’ve put together a show that manages to take on enormous challenges we face as a country and somehow make it fun. We’re very proud of the show and eager to see where the show takes us in the months ahead.”

The show, produced by Layne Amerikaner, PFAW’s senior communications manager for writing and content, is slated to produce new episodes on a weekly basis. It is currently available on iTunes, Stitcher and other platforms.

People For the American Way is a progressive advocacy organization founded to fight right-wing extremism and defend constitutional values including free expression, religious liberty, equal justice under the law, and the right to meaningfully participate in our democracy.
