WASHINGTON, D.C.— As the final presidential primary debate of the year looms this week, PFAW President Michael Keegan released the following statement:

"This final presidential debate of 2019 is likely to occur on the day after a presidential impeachment. Given the circumstances, presidential candidates should be asked two things: will they state in no uncertain terms that federal judicial nominations made by this president must not proceed while impeachment and removal from office are pending, and what will they do to repair damage being done to the fairness and impartiality of our federal bench by this president? Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid recently declared that any candidate who wants to lead this country as president must have a plan for the Supreme Court, in particular, since it has been hijacked by this administration to serve a narrow-minded, ideological agenda. We agree, and we would like this debate to cover the candidates' plans not just for the Supreme Court but for all our federal courts, which continue to be targeted for takeover by this lawless president and his many Senate enablers."
