Washington, D.C.—People for the American Way (PFAW) today released the following statement from PFAW Executive Vice President Marge Baker in support of the bipartisan Special Counsel Transparency Act, introduced today in the Senate by Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.

“Nobody is above the law, and we commend the senators for working in a bipartisan way to protect the rights of Congress and the public to learn the results of the Mueller investigation and any future special counsel investigation. According to CNN, this special counsel investigation has resulted in four people sent to prison, one person convicted at trial, guilty pleas from seven people, charges filed against 37 people or organizations, and 199 criminal counts—and yet President Trump continues to assail the legitimacy of the investigation.   The president cannot be trusted to let the results of the investigation see the light of day without strong action from Congress. With another presidential race already in motion, the public must get the full story about Russian interference in our elections.”
