WASHINGTON, D.C.— Following House passage today of a resolution limiting President Trump’s ability to engage in hostilities against Iran under the 1973 War Powers Resolution, which would curtail his pursuit of military action against Iran unless there is support from Congress, PFAW President Michael Keegan released the following statement:

"This president has repeatedly threatened the security of the American people, as well as the very foundations of our democracy, with his contempt for the rule of law and our Constitution.  Therefore, we applaud the House vote reasserting Congress's unique constitutional authority to declare war, and call on the Senate to similarly defend the Constitution.  There continues to be an urgent and relentless need for our coequal branches of government to act as a check on this lawless president."
