WASHINGTON, D.C.— Following Democrat Dan Helmer's victory tonight in the election for Virginia House of Delegates District 40, PFAW Political Director and Director of PFAW's Latinos Vote! program Lizet Ocampo released the following statement:

"Dan Helmer's victory, in what was the final remaining Republican-held district in Northern Virginia, is great news for his district and for Virginia. Dan won with a strong message about protecting reproductive rights and combating gun violence. PFAW is proud to have supported Dan through our Next Up Victory Fund, and we know he will do a great job in Richmond on behalf of his constituents."

About Latinos Vote!
PFAW’s Latinos Vote! program exposes and counters anti-immigrant, anti-Latino rhetoric and policies. Through electoral work, we hold groups, leaders and influencers accountable at the polls for the harm they do to immigrant and Latino communities.
