Washington D.C. – As we begin Women’s History Month, People For the American Way President Svante Myrick released the following statement:

“Women’s History Month is deeply meaningful to us at People For the American Way. One of our co-founders along with Norman Lear was the late Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, a trailblazing woman. Another trailblazing woman, Dolores Huerta, sits on our People For board today. Our Women’s Leadership Program for young women in government is named after these two icons, and we are proud to play a role in nurturing the next generation of outstanding women leaders. All of us in the progressive movement owe our success to women who broke ground for us politically and culturally, and we can’t wait to see where the rising generation of women will lead us next.”
