Washington D.C. – Following Senate Majority Leader Schumer’s filing of cloture today to advance the nominations of three more Biden judicial nominees, Kenly Kiya Kato in the Central District of California, Julia Kobick in the District of Massachusetts, and Ramon Reyes in the Eastern District of New York, People For the American Way President Svante Myrick released the following statement:

“Senate Majority Leader Schumer and Judiciary Committee Chair Durbin deserve credit for keeping the focus on advancing the nominations of President Biden’s outstanding judicial nominees, especially in the middle of so many competing priorities. The three nominees who advanced today were the ones who have been waiting the longest to be confirmed. It’s important to remember that without good judges on the bench, everything else we value in our democracy is at risk. We applaud today’s progress and we encourage the Senate to keep up this very important work as the clock ticks toward the end of the year.”
