Even in the Trump era, there are things to be thankful for. In a November 22 Thanksgiving mini-episode of “The Progressive Happy Hour,” hosts Christin “Cici” Battle and Drew Courtney join podcast producer Layne Amerikaner to share what they are grateful for—both for their country and also just for themselves.
Drew explains that what he’s most thankful for right now is local activists.
“I think we spend so much of our politics focused on the person who’s standing behind the podium or making the speech,” he said. “But the people who are making the difference and who give me hope are the people in random places, wherever you happen to be, who are showing up and knocking on doors and waving signs… I’m eternally grateful for those people, especially the ones who are never on TV and never in the news. They are the ones who power the movement.”
