Florida currently excludes 1.4 million returning citizens from participating in democracy. That could change this November with the Voting Restoration Amendment (Amendment 4) ballot initiative. Floridians will have the choice to return the eligibility to vote to their friends, family, and neighbors who have fully completed their sentences. Second Chances FL is relying on everyday Americans nationwide to step up and help.
People For the American Way staff, activists, and allied organizations were among those who stepped up for the national day of action on May 23.
PFAW phonebankers contributed to the hundreds of Florida voter conversations that were had that evening, including the identification of several new Second Chances FL volunteers.
