President Trump is calling on Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to “go nuclear” in order to confirm his Supreme Court nominee, Judge Neil Gorsuch. And the far Right may think that they have found their dream candidate to fill his stolen seat. But McConnell indicated in an interview on Wednesday’s “Morning Joe” that he might not be ready to blow up the Senate in order to force Gorsuch onto the Supreme Court — even if he had the votes to do it.

“My assumption is that we’ll have to get 60 votes."

Even if the 52 Republicans choose to fall in line behind Trump and confirm his nominee, McConnell will need the support of eight Democrats in order to put Gorsuch in the seat that would have been filled by President Obama’s nominee Merrick Garland had Republicans not blockaded his nomination. In the coming weeks, it’s critical that Americans speak up to remind Democrats and key Republicans that Gorsuch is a dangerous choice for the Supreme Court.
