Donald Trump has promised supporters that if they “knock the crap out of” a protester, he will cover their legal fees: “Just knock the hell — I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise, I promise. It won’t be so much ’cause the courts agree with us too.”
Indeed, some Trump rallies have become violent affairs, often stoked by the candidate himself. Just this week, Trump’s campaign manager reportedly grabbed and bruised a Breitbart reporter who was asking the candidate a question.
It seems that Trump will finally have an opportunity to fulfill his vow, as one of his supporters has now been “charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct” after he punched a demonstrator in the head.
The Trump fan said of the protester: “Next time we see him, we might have to kill him.”
Trump, who once said he’d like to punch a protester “in the face,” now has a chance to show his supporters if they can trust his word.
