In addition to being a Donald Trump–obsessed sycophant, right-wing commentator Wayne Allyn Root is also an avid conspiracy theorist who unapologetically continues to insist that Seth Rich was murdered by the Democrats for allegedly handing stolen emails over to Wikileaks.
On his Newsmax program on Tuesday, Root interviewed Ed Butowsky, a right-wing commentator who is both being sued by members of Rich's family and himself suing others for allegedly spreading misinformation about him regarding the case, and openly and proudly promoted the right-wing conspiracy theory.
"He was murdered because he was the guy that gave all the DNC files to Julian Assange and Wikileaks," Root said. "That's my guess, but it seems obvious to me that he got murdered for no money, no jewelry, they just killed him for no reason and nobody seems to be interested in finding the killer. And it sure seems to me to point to leading Democrats—Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the DNC, the Clintons, Hillary Clinton, all the above, Donna Brazile—all the above seem to be mixed up in this, they all had a motive to kill this guy."
Calling it "the dirtiest murder case ever," Root alleged that former FBI director James Comey was being paid by the Clintons to cover up Rich's murder because "the likely suspects would be the DNC, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Donna Brazile, [John] Podesta, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, the Clinton Foundation" since "somebody paid for a hit on Seth Rich, that much is clear."
