On his radio program on Tuesday, right-wing commentator, conspiracy theorist and Donald Trump–obsessed sycophant Wayne Allyn Root claimed that he predicted the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that hit Mexico City earlier that day.
"No, I'm not crazy, but I swear I have abilities in my gut to feel things that are going to happen, to envision what's going to happen," Root declared. "I've got a crystal ball. I knew Brexit would win in England when no one thought it would, I knew Trump would win. Every political prediction I've made in the last five years has been on the money, I think I'm 100 for 100."
"I got a feeling that Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma were not all that was in store for us and a massive earthquake was on the way on the West coast of the United States," he added. "Crazy as it sounds, I said, 'I hope you don't think I'm insane.' I know I said it on my radio show, national radio for all the world to hear, and put it on my website and Facebook and Twitter and all that. I think I said here on the TV show as well. I just had a feeling a massive earthquake was coming and sure enough."
There are, as far as we could find, no mentions of any earthquake predictions on his website, his radio page, or his Twitter feed and the sole mention on his Facebook page is a link to an article that suggests that thousands of lightning strikes in California could "be a sign that California’s mega quake is on the horizon."
Mexico City is more than 1,500 miles away from California, but apparently that is close enough for Root to take credit for having predicted it.
