Trump Surrogate: Sexual Assault Talk Just What Men Do, Like Women Having 'Emotional Breakdowns Once A Month'

Donald Trump

Donald Trump campaign surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes has been busy defending the GOP presidential nominee in the media after the release of a 2005 tape of him boasting about sexually assaulting women and the subsequent allegations from women who say Trump kissed or touched them without their consent.

Hughes brought this campaign to the Minnesota radio program “Ox in the Afternoon” yesterday, where she told host Dan Ochsner that being shocked by Trump’s comments in the 2005 tape is like being “shocked by women who have emotional breakdowns once a month and are crying all the time,” because “God made us different” and “we have different hormones.”

Hughes told Ochsner that there are “several holes” in the stories of each woman who has accused Trump of assault, before accusing the Clinton campaign of a “double standard” because they started “stirring up one big mud bath, mud-slinging fest” after the release of the tape and “saying every curse word and throwing out all the stuff in regards to going against his supporters.”

Ochsner then asked Hughes for her views on the sexual assault tape as a woman. “I haven’t talked to a single female who says they’re disgusted by this,” he insisted. “They shrug it off, you women have been putting up with men for all these years with all our faults and everything, you always seem to look beyond it and what you see in us I don’t know, but we appreciate it, whatever it is.”

“That’s it right there,” Hughes responded. “Is the stuff they’re saying wrong? Yeah, absolutely, I would definitely be very upset with somebody if they said that to my daughter, if they very much said it to my face.”

“But you know what,” she continued, “just like—and this is going to be so sexist, I can believe I’m actually going to say it, but I like you, I like your listeners a lot. If you’re going to complain about men making pig-headed sexist comments amongst each other and you’re going to be shocked and surprised about it, that’s kind of like saying that you shouldn’t be shocked by women who have emotional breakdowns once a month and are crying all the time and men can’t figure out why.  I mean, there’s a reason why God made us different. We have different hormones, we have different things running through our bodies, it is what it is.”
