Today in West Palm Beach, Donald Trump told supporters that recent claims of sexual assault that emerged in The New York Times and People magazine are “discredited” fabrications and part of a grand conspiracy by the media, government elites and the Clinton campaign to derail his candidacy.
Trump said that he is preparing to file a lawsuit against the Times and dismissed a claim by a former People writer who says that Trump forced himself on her at his Mar-a-Lago villa while she was writing about his first anniversary with his wife Melania.
“Why wasn’t it part of the story?” he said. “Why didn’t they make it part of the story?”
“Take a look,” he said. “You take a look, you look at her, look at her words, you tell me what you think. I don’t think so, I don’t think so.”
“These people are horrible liars,” Trump added. “They’re horrible, horrible liars.”
Candace Smith of ABC News notes that one man at the rally responded: “She wishes!”
When Trump referenced the People Mag writer and asked why he would do acts she alleged, man in the crowd yelled, "She wishes!"
