Rep. Trent Franks appeared on yesterday’s edition of “Washington Watch” to discuss the GOP’s campaign to defund Planned Parenthood, telling host Tony Perkins that the debate represents a fight for the very survival of America.
Claiming that Americans have become “desensitized” to the “horror from Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry” to “a degree that I think threatens the survival or the necessity of the survival of America,” the Arizona Republican said Congress must defund Planned Parenthood in order to “honor the founding fathers’ dream.”
Perkins, the head of the Family Research Council, said he agreed with the congressman, saying that the Planned Parenthood fight has come at a pivotal moment in history as the discredited smear videos have exposed “the evil and immorality of the abortion industry.”
