Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay appeared on the "Steve Malzberg Show" yesterday, where he called upon Republicans in Congress to immediately impeach Hillary Clinton if she is elected president.
"I would start impeachment hearings immediately, whether she's pardoned [by President Obama] or not," DeLay said. "You can't have a criminal serving in the White House as president of the United States and commander in chief. It's impossible, so let's try her in the Senate."
When Malzberg pointed out that it is unlikely that Republicans will have enough votes in the Senate to actually convict Clinton, DeLay said that doesn't matter because "we knew we didn't have the votes to convict in the Senate, but we impeached [Bill] Clinton anyway because we knew that it was our responsibility to do so."
Republicans, DeLay said, will "have enough guts to impeach Clinton if the American people demand it."
