All this week, televangelist Kenneth Copeland's Believers Voice of Victory network is running a series programs aimed at mobilizing Christian conservatives to vote Republican in the upcoming midterm elections. The series features George and Terri Pearsons, who are senior pastors at Copeland's Eagle Mountain Church, along with Religious Right activist Buddy Pilgrim and televangelist Paula White-Cain, who has been a key spiritual adviser to President Trump for years.
The episode airing on Wednesday ended with a Bible passage in which Jesus says that anything that two or more Christians ask for "will be done for them by my Father in heaven," which Terri Pearsons used to mobilize Christians to vote in support of Trump.
"If we want the power of God in our nation," she said, "then we have to move things towards the power of agreement that lines up with what His name represents that He is. So this election is about moving Congress, moving the Senate into an agreement with the man that God has clearly put his hand on. And what will be the result? The Great I Am will be in the midst of it."
"Father, we just glorify you and honor you and thank you for the privilege that it is to vote in our nation," replied George Pearsons, as he closed out the program with prayer. "We will not relinquish our responsibility, and we see the House and the Senate in full position to be able to carry through this legislation"—meaning, of course, legislation that would advance the Religious Right’s agenda.
