Stephen Moore, a Heritage Foundation fellow and a former economic adviser to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, appeared on “The 700 Club” today to discuss the failure to repeal the Affordable Care Act and the upcoming debate over tax reform.
When host Pat Robertson asked Moore whether the White House should let the health care law “fall of its own weight” or “try to save it,” Moore said that Republicans should remain committed to trying to “entirely repeal Obamacare.”
“There’s nothing salvageable about that law,” he said.
While Democrats noted that the GOP’s replacement bill, the American Health Care Act, may cost 24 million people their health insurance, Moore predicted that everyone will lose their health insurance if the Affordable Care Act is not repealed:
I think Trump summarized the problem very well last week when he said if we stay on the current course with Obamacare, the entire health insurance market is going to be destroyed and nobody is going to have health insurance. Liberals say 10, 15 million people are going to lose their insurance under the Republican plan—everybody is going to lose their health insurance if we stay on the current course that we’re on, because it is like the Titanic and there is no way to save it.
