Right Wing Round-Up

  • Ed Whelan didn't like the criticism that publius had leveled at him for his opposition to Sonia Sotomayor, so he did the natural thing: he outed him(link is external). Classy.
  • Think Progress notes(link is external) that Newt Gingrich may have backed off his claim that Sotomayor is a "racist" ... in favor of calling her a "racialist." Big improvement.
  • On a related note, Jonathan Singer points out(link is external) that only 8 percent of people are buying into the Right's "Sotomayor is a racist" nonsense.
  • Alan Colmes observes(link is external) that George Tiller's murder has turned those who had been picketing his office for years into "an army in search of a war."
  • With Tiller's alleged murder declaring "there are many other similar events planned around the country as long as abortion remains legal," John Cole wants to know(link is external) when the Right will start demanding that this domestic terrorist be tortured to find out more.
  • Digby points to(link is external) the president of Colorado Right to Life explaining that Tiller's murder was expected with this analogy : "If a Mafia hit man gets killed, people recognize it's an occupational hazard."
  • Finally, Jim Burroway reports(link is external) supporters of Arizona's anti-marriage amendment claimed that they had no interest in denying anyone’s domestic partnership benefits ... but are now trying to do just that.
