End Times broadcasters Jim Bakker and Rick Wiles, the host of the far-right radio show “Trunews,” got together last week for a special program, “The Red Light is Flashing,” where Wiles warned that while God gave America a simple “paddling” with the 9/11 attacks, He may soon completely destroy the country as punishment for marriage equality.
Wiles claimed that he foresaw the September 11, 2001, attacks and knew that they were a message from God. However, America didn’t heed the message, and instead went ahead in inciting more divine wrath by legalizing same-sex marriage.
What might that punishment look like? Wiles, who once floated the possibility of a giant ball of fire striking the country in revenge for marriage equality, warned that the country may soon be destroyed in a fire for “exporting wickedness,” such as homosexuality and abortion rights, abroad, while Bakker said that judgment may come in the form of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions or an asteroid.
Among the other signs of our imminent doom, according to Wiles, is Wiles’ appearance on Bakker’s television show, an observation that left Bakker gasping and the audience breaking out into applause.
