Adding to the conservative backlash against Sen. Marco Rubio’s involvement in creating the Senate immigration reform bill, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher said the Florida senator has “given up his place to advise any of us in Washington what to do and given up any right to be trusted by the American people.” The California Republican told WorldNetDaily radio that Rubio’s pro-reform remarks have included “contradiction after contradiction; lie after lie,” insisting that “no one should believe him.”
With conflicting reports as to whether Speaker John Boehner will let the House vote on a reform bill even if the majority of Republicans don’t support it, Rohrabacher argued that Boehner “should be removed as speaker” if he allows such a bill to reach the floor over his supposed “betrayal” of Republicans and the American people. Rohrabacher said America will be “suffering consequences of fifty million new people heading in our direction” if the bill passes.
