Ted Cruz’s father and campaign surrogate Rafael Cruz spoke to WorldNetDaily yesterday about President Obama’s trip to Cuba and his plans to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, which prompted Cruz to accuse the president of committing “treason” in his handling of the detention facility.
The elder Cruz falsely claimed that “Obama is bent on releasing all of those terrorists from Guantanamo Bay and every time he releases some of those, they go join ISIS or join Al Qaeda to kill more Americans. That’s treason.”
He then predicted that the president will give the U.S. base “back to Cuba,” which will in return invite North Korea, Iran, China or Russia to take over the property.
