Some “prophets” who backed Donald Trump’s candidacy seem to be cashing in on his election by hawking minted silver coins to commemorate the “mercy” that God showed America by putting Trump in the White House. The coins feature an image of George Washington on one side and an American flag on the reverse, along with the words “New Glory.” “Mercy” appears on both sides of the coin.
An email featuring Dutch Sheets and Cindy Jacobs, delivered through Charisma Media on Monday, includes this pitch:
If you interceded for the United States during the election, pick up a coin to forever remember when God showed us mercy.
Give one to your children as a token to cherish a time when God spared the nation.
Turns out the coins are connected to a vision:
While praying for the 2016 presidential election, Kingsley Walker had a vision of Dutch Sheets standing in a rainstorm of coins. Every coin had “Mercy” inscribed across it and he heard, “Mercy is our new currency!” He knew this meant God was going to bestow mercy on America if we would cry out for it. Millions raised their voices, and God delighted to give us mercy!
To commemorate the fulfillment of that vision, special coins were minted—inspiring mementos that many agree are memorial markers to help us and our children remember God’s mercy and our new window of opportunity.

Further into the website you can find a more detailed version of the vision, which included the design of the coins, along with descriptions of additional dreams, visions and an “angelic invitation” that all pointed to Trump’s election being a sign of God’s mercy and a “powerful halt and turnaround of the disastrous agenda and course that we were following as a nation.”
The site warns that the “enemy” has riled up opposition to Trump:
The mercy of the Lord and the action of believers has made the enemy livid at what has happened in our past national election and he is going all out to demonically incite rage and lawlessness everywhere. The blatant, un-muzzled, and defiant voices coming from the liberal camp are accusatory and spewing lies and half-truths. But they are being countered by equally as damaging conservative voices that are politically motivated, bent on establishing their own form of dominance, and also telling half-truths. The opposition to our president is as unprecedented as his victory was last November. The battle for the heart and soul of our nation is fierce, but when we cry out for mercy, God hears us!

And, as a bonus, the coins are “a perfect opportunity as we see a Divine transfer of wealth and a shift in our economy.”
The divine transfer of wealth is not just revenue from the coins headed into the bank accounts of the prophets or “kingdom entrepreneurs,” it is a teaching among members of the New Apostolic Reformation that God is going to make His people rich. After all, as Cindy Jacobs said in March, what better way to encourage Jews to become Christians?
“I want to say to you,” she continued, “that one of the things I believe that’s going to bring a great harvest of Jews is the Christians becoming so profoundly wealthy … that it’s going to make them jealous. The wealth and the riches that we’re able to obtain is going to make them jealous.”
“Do you think our poverty is going to make a Jew jealous?” she asked. “Come off it! No, we are meant to prosper. Why? Because they understand, in their culture, that obedience to God brings blessing.”
Jacobs and Sheets were both participants in a 1999 meeting which led to the formation of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders, a leadership group within the dominionist New Apostolic Reformation. Jacobs is a member of the council of POTUS Shield, a network of “apostolic” Christians who backed Trump’s election and are now praying to protect his presidency and help him bring about the reign of God in America. POTUS Shield cites Sheets as having helped lead the charge for a “Kingdom shift” in America’s heartland.
